John was not throwing things at the TV. He had evolved beyond that.
Instead, he was watching the news and the political channel, shooting the screen with a dart gun every time someone said something inane.
He was running out of TV space, rapidly.

Texas, Thursday, on the beach
The phone beeped. It wasn't anything too unusual, just the wake-up alarm, one of many he normally set in case he felt like being lazy and hitting the snooze button..which usually meant tossing the phone into the front footwell until he felt human enough to deal with it ( Read more... ) -
Texas, up to Wednesday
It had been a rough patch of several weeks. John had veered slightly from the original game plan, at least in the eyes of his employer. This was more important. The actual job was over quickly; bit of on-site work, a few hours with a keyboard, and back in business. Everywhere else? Not so much.

Somewhere in Texas
At first, it had been an easy gig. Raise and a promotion, actual building and testing equipment, not just writing code. And to prove it, there was, of course, a hitch. Fly down to Texas to deal with some problems with the software that wasn't able to be fixed off-site. John was mad enough to chew nails and spit bullets. All of his lower covering garments were tacky, ugly, Bermuda shorts. Except for the kilt, of course. That was just fabric draped on a hanger and he was not going to check because that would just break his brain.
Today was a 'telecommute' day. -

John was in the backyard, beer in hand, enjoying the thrill of barbequeing and testing out the new lawn furniture he made from one of those Adirondack websites. Lots of sitting, bit of rocking, and eating steak. Good weekend.
