Also - failfandomanon? Is there a LJ equivalent to fandom calendar? There really does need to be a better way to get the word out about exchanges/fests in general. Maybe a facebook page where all exchanges and the like can be announced - a one stop shopping sort of thing?

Only for advertising big bangs, that I know of, sadly. At least the dreamwidth one is for both lj and dw events.

Seconding what Debirlfan said, failfandomanon and fandom calendar. Then posting the ad one by one on many communities with large number of participants, and lastly my suggestion is creating a mirror on tumblr.

A toooon of fandom has shifted over to tumblr, especially newer fandoms. Creating a mirror over there, or even just advertising there would probably help immensely. It's too late for it this year, but a good place to advertise here on LJ might be tumblr_refuge

Just a general question. Would there be interest in a group (private members only, or public?) on Facebook dedicated to exchanges/fests/big bangs etc where moderators could advertise - whether their exchange was running on LJ, Dreamwidth, AO3 or even elsewhere?
