Coin had been thinking, lately. This would be his first Hogswatch among ordinary people, and his first Christmas ever, so he should probably do something for it. Unfortunately, he didn't really know how to do much of anything, so he would have to find someone who could

Having been sanding off a few rough spots on the table, Duck lifted his head and cocked it towards the door. Nobody ever knocked, at least, nobody that came around regularly.

"Just a sec," he called, and wiped his hands off on his jeans before going to open the door.

Finding a boy on the other side of it, Duck blinked and said the first thing that came to his mind, which happened to be, "Hey."

"It's going to be Hogswatch," said Coin, who had a tendency likewise to say what came to mind. "And Christmas. And I have friends now, so I need presents."

"Oh."

And there really isn't anything else to do but open the door wider and let the kid in. So Duck does, wondering if he's just been mistaken for Santa Claus.

"Okay," he says, gesturing towards the table. "Have a seat."

Coin peered curiously at the table for a moment, then evidently got the idea and went to sit at it.

"My name is Coin. I read the directory," he explained, "and it says you make things if people ask. So I'm asking."
