I absolutely loved their reunion! All the emotions were spot-on, especially Lee's belief that if he turned around or took his eyes off Kara for a moment, she'd disappear.
Loved that Lee's belief in Kara was completely unwavering, even when he was faced with all the holes and implausibility of her story. These are the pilots that I adore so much. <3 <3
This is rip-roaring through canon. I feel like I'm hanging onto the edge of my seat, seeing where all of this is going to lead. WOW!
The grief that Lee experienced was so palpable and real, and for a bit I was wondering what this Head!Kara would turn into. You rewove Baltar's trial and the whole return to the Fleet deftly and it was great to see Sam and Lee develop their own relationship and connection separate from Kara at all. Loved that.
I always wanted to see more of Lee's grief so when faced with the chance for it, I had to write it, at least for myself. The show itself only gave us glimpses of it which I totally get for that medium, but was interesting for me to still explore here. And Lee and Sam! I needed to have them resolve some of their problems but not in the same quiet manner of the show, so that's what I came up with.

If there are 'stages of fandom grieving' then I think you and I must have explored some of the SAME ones - hee hee! because I have done the same. (But obv not in the same way) I love both these ideas and look forward to where the Lee / Sam dynamic goes next. :)
I just adore what you've done to canon. One thing that shocked me is that I'm really enjoying this deeper version of Sam, of all people! I have really loved his searching & deducing and his relationship with Lee. I didn't think I could like Sam as more than a boy toy! This reunion rang so true, as did every other moment.
Also, please know that if I don't comment on a chapter, it's because I can't wait for more, not because I wasn't blown away by it! I'm astounded at this world you've built out of pieces of canon...it's gigantic!
Don't worry about it! I'm so so so glad you're enjoying the story as I've reworked and told it. I wanted to follow canon since this was my 'fix it' story, but not just be rehashing every single detail along the way. I also loved making some things slightly different to indicate how the changes had certain effects (such as, Ellen Tigh survives because Kara brings the fleet back a month earlier before she could betray the resistance further, Baltar's is found guilty since Lee doesn't help with his trial, or even Hera Agathon and her adoptive mother DO make it back to the fleet this time around
