This bit of banter especially seemed so spot on for Kara: “No, the Admiral just sent me over to give you a goodbye frak before I go out the airlock and to download city,” she quipped, quickly lowering herself to straddle his hips, kneeling on the edges of the board he laid upon. “I told him I wouldn’t take too long,” Kara leaned over him, her hands pressing into the dirtied deck floor to support her body parallel above his own. “He wasn’t surprised to hear your record best is thirty seconds.”
Hee!
And it was lovely to see BOTH of his children helping and supporting Bill. So many warm feelings from this chapter. <3 <3 <3
Ok I'm seriously in love with this!givsgr8faceNovember 25 2011, 07:21:07 UTC
OMG I cannot get enough of this story, seriously! What's even more awesome is you kind of came out of nowhere and you brought this amazing piece of writing! I love how you juxtapose Kara's past and her parent's history with the present, it creates a whole different dynamic, mood, and tone for the storyline. I also love how you played with the canon stuff, did some roll reversals, this is quickly becoming some personal favorite fanon. I can't wait for more!!! And Taragel needs some kind of award for reccing such a great writer!

Thank you for all the compliments and thank you for reading! I've been having a great time writing this fic (my first!) so it's good to hear that people are still enjoying it or just getting hooked on it.
I've got two more chapters done, so expect to see them and possible a third chapter posted tomorrow.
I've been reading this for the last couple of days and... this is the way it should have gone, this is what I imagined it to be, this is what it fell short of somewhere in the third season. It's just so spot on with what I always admired and loved about Lee, Kara, Adama, Roslin and their relationships with each other. Perfectly executed and explained.
Thank you so much for the praise! Don't get me wrong, I did love the show how it was but I knew I had to write this story with my own changes put in.
I hope you enjoy finishing the story, things are about to get crazy in the parts coming up for you. I really look forward to hearing what you have to say about future chapters!
Sure I am! I'm reading in my spare time, and it surely reads like a novel!
I get it; I've been in the BSG fandom for years and written my share of stories and AUs... so I know it's not about criticising the story as it was but rather making it better.
And you've made Kara the Commander of Pegasus - a great move! I've always felt a little disappointed she was lower in rank when compared to Lee (except for that time when Cain promoted her and demoted him), when she was clearly more gifted and succesful both as a pilot and as an officer.

I also thought Lee's short speech when he convinced Adama and Roslin to give Sam amnesty was rather good. Very clear sighted.
Thanks for the super quick updating!
