Aw that was beautiful. MARRIAGE! And the vows were especially lovely.

I see we have an end number now too! TWO MORE CHAPTERS LEFT! Very exciting!

Beautiful ceremony, perfect for Kara and Lee. :) I particularly loved the ancient rituals and vows about being equals. Very nice.

Oh, beautiful, beautiful ceremony! I like how Kara's proposal sneaks up on the reader as much as on Lee, and how so very fitting the low-key, yet powerful, ritual is for these two.

Gorgeous chapter, all of it.

Kara's got such a strong personality that I just never saw her saying yes (at least under these circumstances) to Lee if he was the one doing the asking. For her, she would have to make that choice herself for her to be really okay with it.

When I was writing this chapter, I did some research on Ancient Greek marriage rituals to keep with the general theme BSG had, unfortunately, there was nothing that really fit for such an intimate and small ceremony. I ended up going with some old Celtic traditions and repurposing various Celtic and Pagan vows to make something I thought fit the two of them just right -- being equals, protecting each other, all of it! I've also always loved the imagery of handfasting and I've seen it in a bunch of movies & television shows, and knew I wanted to use it for these two.

Mmmm, lovely job you did. I wrote Kara making him a similar proposal, so I totally agree that she would've had to make that call. :) It's hard to write any kind of wedding for these two that doesn't veer into schmoop, so kudos to you for sounding just the right notes! <3

For awhile I couldn't decide if I wanted their marriage to go like this, or if I wanted it to be something more out in the open (though not much). I toyed with the idea of Kara asking Adama to marry them before he left, and having it be a tiny little thing in his quarters with perhaps only Laura there as the other guest. It could have worked, but I'm glad I went this way.

I'll definitely be checking out some of your fic! Is it all in your journal?
