WOW. That is such fucking bullshit. I just...ugh. How can parents even let people that close-minded and idiotic run their schools?

Because most of the parents here think just the same way. It's a "We like to think we're liberal but really we're way too close minded" type of town.

That's kind of how most high schools are, unfortunately. I'm glad that I escaped it later on when I transferred to an alternative school, it was worth going to a 'lesser school for lesser students'.

And I'm glad you're sticking to your guns. Someone has to, if anything is to change. The road to nowhere goes somewhere eventually.

Thanks, but it really is difficult. I feel very excluded from my class sometimes because of it, and it's just... Idk, odd. Hopefully things there will change eventually.

In a way, I was. I traded it to go to school with drug addicts, gang members, delinquents and the unwanted in society. But since I was a young mother, they thought that I belonged with them anyway, so I guess it wasn't too bad? It still had it's downside, either way. But I don't regret it at all, at least the staff was less hypocritical than the staff at public school. We were friendly towards gays, and patient towards those with differences in styles. I loved that, especially since my dress style was greatly discriminated against at public high school

It's really unfortunate, that you end up feeling that way for doing what you believe in. But I guess it's just part of life. Try to keep your chin up, and keep going. I'm rooting for you, at least, and I'm sure that I'm not alone after reading this entry.

It sounds like it wasn't a good experience, but you made it a better experience. An experience you actually (well from what I can see) kind of enjoyed. High school is high school. Not necessarily meant to be amazing, but still. When it's supposed to be the "best four years you'll ever have" I just fail to see what's so great about it. At least you could deal with less hypocrisy and such, which I think is amazing.

Honestly, though, as your going away present to MHS, I think it would be a pretty good idea to polish this up, maybe go into more detail about the GSA thing and submit it to an actual newspaper. You know, really get the word out there.

Ugh, this is, if you'll pardon my language, UTTER BULLSHIT. It reminds me of my old school's reaction to a girl who was openly bisexual. They assumed that it meant she wanted to have promiscuous sex with ALL females, and I just thought *facepalm*
