I received my MRI results this week. As suspected, the ACL ligament in the knee was torn when I had my accident. This ligament provides stability for the whole knee joint (basically it holds the lower and upper leg bones together), so it is kind of important ( Read more... )

Sounds relatively simple...they can do great things in sugery now. Whoo Hooo! more time off work?
But tell the doctor to have a back up for the machines, since you tend to shut them off..especially the machine that goes "Ping!".

Ha, ha, yeah I'll remember to do that!

The surgeon said I'd need a week to ten days off work (shame), then a gradual increase of hours as I recover. At the moment I'm only working six hours a day, which is all I can manage. By the end of the day, my whole leg is throbbing and aching. I saw my doc this week and got some stronger painkillers, as I was having problems sleeping. The new drugs (Paradex - containing paracetamol and dextropropoxyphene) are really helping - I'm sleeping much better without any noticable side-effects.
