Cassandra wheels around and nearly falls off the chair. She scrambles backwards away from the chair, staring at him with wide eyes. She bites her lip, hard, takes a shuddering breath, and curtsies, trying to calm herself. "Sir, it is nothing," she says, valiantly trying to keep the fearful tremble out of her voice.

She blinks at him and relaxes a little as he moves away. "Oh," she says, "Oh, I'm sorry. That was rude of me. You startled me, is all." She tries a smile, and doesn't quite manage. She's still nervous. It's hard, still, being alone in a room with a male.
