i probably won't have a friend after everything finds it's way into the open. people i care about are going to be pissed off. they're going to side with him- even though they don't know a fucking thing about him- & not care about me. so it makes no difference ( Read more... )

I need a date to the prom... would you like to come along? demolition November 11 2001, 08:45:53 UTC
See, I'm 19 and I care about makeup, cute boys, AND sports. So I totally get everything deep. Oh, and I'm small & cute. Yeah, I'm all about the deep stuff. Seriously, though, it does amaze me how someone can look down into a clear pool and see nothing more than the ripples on the surface. It happens. I don't think it's just age... one has to want to see in order to activate ones inner eyes.

Lotsa love,
Didi the Soul Vampire :)

yea I'm going to disagree with that

sometimes you have to do things your friends advise against

at least if you strive to be in any sense your own person

which you really should

and don't get defensive...

jenn wasn't necessarily referring to you

but if she was, maybe you just proved her point

don't worry jenn, you have to be your own person. I admire you for doing it. We all care what people think, but decisions have to be our own.

Objectivism is more key in making good decisions, though. This 'be your own person' thing is getting really overplayed and while it's a nice concept and everything, that's pretty much all it amounts to - semantic conceptual crap. It's funny how people can sort of convince themselves of things, isn't it? Through that post she went from being apparently concerned of what people would think to saying 'but it doesn't matter!' I guess everyone needs to make themselves feel better about mistaken choices. Or some such stupid nonsense as I have the tendency to spout.
