lol, glad it arrived and you liked them! oh, and LOL about the chapstick...I love that kind.

I think the reason you have good friends is because you are one... Even though I haven't known you that long, I just KNOW I could count on you/trust you... Say if I was living in NYC and for some reason had to leave the hospital in the middle of the night and go home (to Vancouver), I KNOW I could have you go to my place and turn off my oven or whatever...that's totally random/unlikely but you know what I mean. I just KNOW I could trust you in some crazy situation; if I needed help you'd be there. and not that I plan on having any weird emergencies, and I'm not a needy person. but just knowing that IF I needed someone... and that's rare...

Sorry about those friends breaking up...I am cringing at the idea of "shrapnel hitting everyone in sight" and I get the idea it's hard being friends with them both and it's making life difficult for everyone...CRINGE!!

Thank you SO MUCH, Kait! I really do try to be a good friend and a responsible person, so I very much appreciate you saying that I'm both. You are absolutely correct, you can certainly trust me to turn off your stove if you ever have to run back to Canada--though I hope that you never will be in such a situation! I'm glad that you realize this, though, it's excellent to hear. :)

And yes. The breakup sucks--they love each other and have been together forever. It's going rather smoothly...but almost all of their friends are mutual ones, so it's difficult for everyone. They've remained friends, but still, they do different social things now (obviously) so we all are forced to choose, which really sucks. Perhaps it's not as painful as the shrapnel analogy implies, but I was using it to show that pieces are flying everywhere--in every direction--and without being able to foresee how it will happen. Splinters are flying further and in stranger ways than I anticipated, so that's mostly what sucks the most for the group of friends.
