Under The Weather

I really, REALLY hate feeling sick. Despite still feeing that way this morning, I figured I'd go in to work and at least try to get some done. Sadly, it meant that I took about twice as long to do what I did....if not a bit longer. Around 1:30 or so, I finally decided to head home, honestly telling my boss I'm not worth paying to be in today. Given there was nothing in particular going on, it was an honest (and safe) statement to make. And it was nice having him recognize that his being gone for around 75-80% of the last month had taken a toll on me, too.

The kicker for today, the one that sent me home, was when I was asked to sign and date a couple copies of billing forms. Didn't have to look 'em over, just put my John Hancock and then the date on there. Did the first one just fine, slid it off to the side to get access to the next, got the first letter of my first name right....

......and went fucking blank.

Kneeling there like an idiot at prayer for a good 5-10 seconds, trying to remember the rest of my name, and not having the sense to look at the page I just signed was enough for me.

I wasn't that out of it when I'd had pneumonia.....*grumble*
