Hah! Agreed on all counts, though our politics differ at the edges. They did bring up the redistricting issue over here on NHPR last night. It's a big deal because we have all of two districts statewide. Plus if you look at a national map of the results by county, it looks like the urban/suburban/rural splits are growing, with the rural/small towns increasingly a "swing" vote, so district mapping for effect is going to become steadily less complicated. The answer is proportional representation at least in the House, but that'd require a Constitutional convention.

Hey, I was for Hillary! The Obama-ists were so invested in what he was going to do but I didn't see any sign that he had the heart to do it.

I don't often admit to this, but I was raised a Republican (even went to TAR conventions) and my family were very much Rockefeller Republicans http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockefeller_Republican. Obama should only be as brave as they. (And I love the source of the quote calling for Congress to "raise the required revenues by approving whatever levels of taxation may be necessary"--Prescott Bush, Dubya's Grandfather!)

You know, if a Republican had been elected with the kind of numbers Obama got, they would have announced they had been given a mandate and steamed full ahead. Why are Democrats such wimps?
