1. Chris Campoli/Corey Crawford | snowball fight | for
juliella It hits him square between the shoulders, a splat he can feel through his jacket. When he turns around, it’s Chris who’s grinning at him, impish and entirely unapologetic. The bus is waiting but Corey can’t resist scooping up his own handful of snow and hurling it back.
His aim sucks, Chris foils his attack by slowly stalking towards him (still grinning), their teammates laughing in the background, until Corey’s back is to the side of the bus and Chris crumbles another snowball over his head.
Corey would be mad if Chris didn’t look so damned attractive while doing so.
2. Jonathan Toews/Patrick Kane | a casual kiss in front of family | for
vancouverr They haven’t come out to their parents yet, but in the past few years the two of them end up spending a little bit of Christmas with both of their families. Jonathan’s been thinking about telling them over the holidays, about him and Patrick, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Christmas morning, Patrick rips open the wrapping paper covering the box in front of him - the remote-control helicopter he’s been eyeing for months - and stares at Jon, wide-eyed, and Jon nods and grins at him, and Patrick lunges forward to kiss him quite enthusiastically.
In front of everyone.
They just laugh.
3. Duncan Keith/Brent Seabrook | mittens | for
tidal_waves16 There’s something sweetly endearing about the fact that Duncan wears leather gloves, well, most of the team does, but Seabs? Always wears mittens. They’re blue-ish-grey, kid-like ones that have googly eyes glued onto the back, with ears and everything. It never fails to make him laugh.
Some of the guys make fun of Seabs for it, but Dunc knows that they were a present from Seabs’s cousin close to a year ago and that she made them herself. Seabs says they’re warm and better than gloves because his fingers aren’t isolated, and Dunc laughs under his breath, but it’s affectionate.
4. Sam/Dean | Black Friday | for
mdlaw Sam thought it would be a great idea. Sam thought it would be a wonderful idea.
Dean scowls, holding the ice pack to the side of his head.
He is never listening to Sam ever again. Sam only has bad ideas.
“Dean, stop grumbling, you don’t even have a concussion and look at all the supplies we got.”
Dean flops back onto the bed. “People are vicious, man. Fucking vicious. Give me monsters and a shotgun any day; I am never going into a store on Black Friday ever again.”
“Aw, poor baby,” Sam says consolingly, and kisses his forehead.
5. Jordan Staal/Kris Letang | the Christmas tradition they don’t tell anyone about | for
kittyfaelis Five years together, and this is what they’ve done for each Christmas - lie on the couch, one year on Kris’s, one year on Jordan’s, two on theirs, and this is Christmas number five. The first one with a ring on each of their fingers, glinting in the soft fuzziness of the lights on the Christmas tree, but not the first with them tangled together in the cushions, sleepy and sated from food and wine, It’s A Wonderful Life playing quietly on the tv.
Kris is kissing him languidly, distractingly, fingers in Jordan’s hair. They aren’t paying much attention at all.
Drabbles 6-10 will be posted on December 6th!
