After much thought & deliberation, we decided to get married in our home state. We drove to Yreka and had a delightful experience. Everyone at the County Clerk's office was very friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make it a good experience for us. In some ways it feels like announcing that we got new power-of-attorney forms signed, so the congrats feel weird. But, the folks who put in a lot of time & effort to make it possible definitely deserve the congratulations.

So delighted to hear that you officially have in laws instead of outlaws. Congratulations!!! I have no idea why, but I tear up every time I am able to say this to my friends who have gotten married!

I was a lot more sentimental over the whole thing than I thought I would be. We've considered ourselves married for a long time, so I was thinking that the ceremony stuff would just be a non-issue. But, I did get a bit misty eyed when Mark said "I do".

The only problem with the quickie wedding was that I didn't get to register anywhere for gifts. But where does one register for "World Peace" and "Random acts of Kindness"? They must have those at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, right?

funny thing is you don't really do quickies any way, at least from what I remember ;)

I think you can get whirled peas at walmart but not sure about random acts of kindness... unlikely...
