Congratulations America!
(To those of you who voted for the other guy, sorry..)

I didn't sleep at all last night, I was too excited to hear who won the election, I might as well have stayed up all night watching it on tv.
But when I checked the tv this morning.. I cried.
Though I have no relations to USA, I am so proud of you.

Thank you! I'm so proud of us too! I've been crying too - I used up almost half a box of tissues while watching Obama's acceptance speech last night. :)

I did the same, I was getting dressed as I watched the early morning news and when they said Obama had won I just started crying! So weird, how the election there makes me more emotional and engaged than the one here at home! Maybe because the election in the States means so much to the entire world, and what is going to happen in the nex years.

Well, for one thing, you sensible Scandinavian countries don't have such a reputation as we do for bumbling around into other people's countries and making messes there. ;) So in that respect I can really understand why the international community has been keeping such a close eye on the US presidential race - I for one was terrified that we might elect another president who'd go around saying things like "Bring 'em on! We're gonna smoke 'em out!"

Now I'm insanely excited to see what Obama's first acts in office will be - I don't know how I'll get through the next two and a half months! :)

Yeah, and everything you do affects us others in an immense way! Like the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.. While it was not our choice to go to war, we still send soldiers there. Gah. Politics. Sometimes I just feel like banging my head at the wall.

I am pretty excited too, and I do hope he will be a good president. It will be tough though, with the ongoing wars, finance crisis and everything. It will be quite a start for him, I think.
