Telling me I almost was considered for an in-person interview is neither helpful nor wanted information. It's a binary process

People think "letting you down easy" is better, except (whether in job search or relationships) I think it's actually worse, since it leads to more self-questioning.

It makes me wonder if there was a tiny edge I could have eked out to get the next step. Also, depresses me.
