As a LONG time Discworld fan I'm not sure I can really see a hesitant DEATH. Even in Reaper Man where he is essentially facing his own mortality he is still very certain. Certain that he's going to die and scared by it but always very.....certain. Logical is the basis of his personality after all since as Sir Terry states other emotions require glands that he, as a walking skeleton, just doesn't have.

Otherwise it was very good. Temeraire was nicely written and I could see how he would be confused about where to go. But Death would know....he always knows; it's why I find him such a restful endearing character.

Well, this is hardly written from Death's perspective. ;)

And it's true that Death knows what he's doing, I tried to portray two points here:

First, Death is never quite certain how to be comforting to mortals.

Secondly, the problem isn't that Death doesn't know Temeraire's destination; it's that without Temeraire knowing his destination, the process is made much more difficult (there's a key premise hidden in here that Temeraire is one of Death's nexuses, and as such, smoothing the way does a lot towards making the world tick a little better).

I'm glad you liked Temeraire's characterization, anyway, even if I didn't quite reach you with my Death. Thanks for the feedback.

kfgssf the ending was perfect and it was bittersweet and and and. I LOVE IT THANK YOU.

"I...YOU END UP WITH WHAT YOU EXPECT," the skeleton corrected. "NOW IS GENERALLY NOT THE TIME TO RADICALLY ALTER ONE'S WORLDVIEW." was the best.

Bittersweet is, naturally, the nature of Death fics; I'm glad you think I captured it.

It is one of the more difficult bits picking out Death's quips, and I'm glad you think I did some of them well. Thanks!

Oh, this was hilarious, and touching. Very well done! Temeraire's characterisation in particular, was great.
