I watched episode 1 of "Merlin" last night and enjoyed it. I can certainly see the potential for slash. I JUST started episode 2, and I was looking at the guest star guy (IMDb tells me it's Will Mellor) and going "Who is that? Who is that?" when suddenly the light bulb over my head lit up and I started laughing hysterically - it's Gaz, from "Two ( Read more... )

Oh goodness I just watched the first episode today at the urging of my flist, and I can't agree more about the slash. There's just no epic gay pseudo-medieval love w/o epic gay snark. :D (so so excited for the rest of the season \o/)

Hey, I just started watching it, too! I watched the third episode today (at work, shhhh). It's fun, but Jesus God, I could literally be those boys grandma. Maybe great-grandma. At least Gaius is cute :)

More seriously, I love Gwen! Who the hell is she? What a face, and her beautiful accent, and her intensity. I feel sorry for the horrible lines they give her (and everybody else), but when she's on screen, I can't take my eyes off her.

Isn't Gwen wonderful?! And I love the bond between her and Morgana. I'm not a big fan of Katie, who plays Morgana, but I like her better in the course of the series, and the way Gwen and Morgana really care for each other is lovely.

Did you see how I avoided your remark about the boys being so terribly young? *facepalm*

Gwen is wonderful! I'd never heard of Katie before this and I agree with you: not a big fan of hers unless Gwen is in the room with her. They have a very very nice relationship. I also enjoyed seeing Gwen with Lancelot . . .

Well played! I think I will, too!

LOL! Welcome to the fold. I think nearly every episode I was like 'Where do I know them from?'

Will Mellor was also recently in the Jimmy McGovern drama as a gay guy having an affair with a man who had previously thought himself straight.

One of the things I like about UK (and as you are probably butt-numbingly aware there are many!), is that the non-fixed tv season and perchant for shorter episode seasons means we get to see actors in different high profile roles, across tv, film and stage. Like the rather scrumptious Richrad Armitage, cutting a swagger as Lucas North on Spooks (MI-5) and in dashing leather trousers on Robin Hood!
