I had a long day at work (for various reasons). I got off late, came home, sat around with the fam (my sister and nephew were here, plus Mr. Pi and the Pi-lettes of course), ate dinner, chatted, blah blah blah.
My sister and nephew left.
The Pi-lettes went to bed.
I sat down on the couch, having fetched my laptop from the bedroom, where I'd moved it to save it from the nephew. Leaned down to get the cord of the laptop (which had just stayed where it was the whole time, nestled under the ottoman and - I thought - out of harm's way).
Pulled up this:
Yes, Killer the Kitten, in a brand new twist of faaaabulous kittenish behavior, chewed the end off my power cord. I love my Macbook, but I swear to frakking god, the goddamned power cord is cursed - this is the THIRD NEW POWER CORD I've had to buy in a YEAR. AND THEY'RE EXPENSIVE. Killer has never shown any inclination to chew on cords before, and I devoutly hope it shocked the everliving fuck out of him, so he won't do it again.
*sigh*
I can order a new one on Thursday or Friday (when I get paid), but ARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH.
So, if I disappear from LJ for a while (can't check it from work), don't worry - I'll be back, with a new power cord. And hopefully this one won't smell quite so much like catnip. :-p
