10 books recommendations

May 23, 2011 09:34

I've been asked by a friend to recommend books for her to read during this school break. I've read quite a lot but these 10 books I'd listed are the ones that touched me the most.

To the books {not in particular order} )

That's quite a lot, we're probably have the same taste on books! You should read another half then XD

I prefer reading English materials since well.. you know how Malay novels are. Oh have you read "Merdekakan Cinta Ratna"? If you haven't then I'll say that novel is pure win because of it's characterization, it's simplicity and the plot is very realistic.

May i ask you do you have books that you can recommend to me? I'm really quite free now. X)

Maybe we do! lol

It's the same with me, I don't really like to read Malay novels...I just don't like them. But I do like this partcular writer, Hlovate, and my favourite work from her are 5 Tahun 5 Bulan and aA+bB. I haven't read Merdekakan cinta Ratna yet, but maybe I'll give it a try :)

If I was asked to list down my favourites, they would be: The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet, Skulduggery Pleasant(series) by Derek Landy, Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom, Howl's Moving Castle, Castle in the Air and House of Many Ways by Dianna Wynne Jones (but really, I love all of her works), the Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman (and I love all of his works too, hard to choose which one is my favourite)
...and I think I need to stop now lol. I kinda get out of control when it concerns reading and books. My mom says so xD

What genres are your favourites?

I'm sorry for my late reply but the server had been down for several days~~ \ToT/

Your mom sure happy her daughter like to read, LOL XD!

I'd like mysteries novels, especially the one concerning murder. But what I really look in novels are actually the characterization. If the characters are convincing, I don't really mind about the genre or the plot. I'd enjoy reading about human behavior in other's POV.

And also, I like it when the minor character gets the limelight at least once in a series. That's why I like the Half-Blood Prince because it'snot just all about Harry, we finally knew about who is Snape.

See, i told you we have the same taste. I've read quite a few from your list too! XD
