An act of extreme bravery

I'm posting a fic.

A fair few of you will have read it anyway, but I feel far more confident about my writing when it's anonymous in the protected confines of hoodland, and I'm doing it for the sake of my beloved Team Leather.

Interesting to see events from Ghislaine's point of view, and a very good portrait of young!Guy. Quite sad that Robin did destroy her!

Thank you.

Quite sad that Robin did destroy her!

I know. That whole episode served to do nothing but re-enforce my preference for Guy over Robin, and I think this serves as something of an exorcism.

As I said before, that last line is killer. Welll done!

(I never realized you don't actually post your fics! You should though, because your stuff is brilliant...)

I'm not sorry to hear you say it again!

(This is the first Hoodland piece that I've felt is really true to my perspective since the Christmas round. I didn't bother with aiming for the middle ground for once, and I'm so pleased it worked. Thank you so much. I will treasure the compliment.)

Fair enough. Do you feel like the competitive aspect of hoodland keeps you from writing the things you actually want to write? I know I feel that sometimes, esp. because some of the stuff I've written there that I've really loved ended up not even placing. *sigh*

I've started to take a different approach now. I save the stuff I really want to write for my actual writing, and just write to the challenge at hoodland. As long as it's not something completely lame, I don't mind that it's not my best work or that I'm writing from some POV other than my "real" one.

It's a double-edged sword: hoodland makes me write, when I would be likely either to play around with ideas I never complete or not to do so at all, but it does mean what I produce is often not my POV, because, let's face it, my POV would be unlikely to go down that well with a chunk of the voting populace, and teamleather needs the points.

I wouldn't be a part of it, if I didn't enjoy it, which is the acid test. I feel like a double agent when I write sometimes, trying to lure TO into voting for me, while not alienating TL. I like the sneaky.
