Editor's Note: Long ago, there was a place called Johnnyland. It was an odd and magical country. Each city had a king and various princes, but none of them were born into their stations. They were all appointed by High King Johnny, who reputedly never left the capital. No one ever saw him besides his appointees, though there were rumors that he sometimes masqueraded as strange old men to check on his subjects. There were also rumors that he had clones... But that's another story altogether.
Above all, Johnnyland has a highly romantic history, with heroes who are well-known for their dedication to each other. Here below, I have taken the liberty of compiling several of the most famous tales into an anthology. I have done my best to place them in what I believe is the correct chronological order, though some of them necessarily overlap.
It is my dearest hope that the readers may find some joy in the stories of these legendary characters and find some inspiration for love in their own lives.
