Rating: PG-13
Genre: .............
Notes: It's 6am. I need to sleep. Hence the cut-off ending. Only PG-13 because of like, one expletive lol. So it's really G I guess :x No genre because it's weird.

It’s awkward at first.

(Shige likes that word: awkward. Takes it, bends it around a matter of ways so that it fits in every situation possible. Thinks that maybe if he had to sum himself up in one word he’d use it, because it would probably make the most sense.)

But Koyama’s there. Shige’s not sure exactly how it helps when Koyama himself was the one that ran up, clearing his throat incessantly, finally blurting out, “Ryo-chan likes you,” but he likes to think it does anyway. Koyama hangs around, clings to Shige, squeaks and pokes and points whenever Ryo appears and Shige laughs awkwardly, and there’s that word again.

Ryo looks over at Koyama hanging off Shige’s back, eyes just visible over the younger one’s shoulder, and raises an eyebrow. Takes one step, two, even gets to three before Koyama squeaks again and scurries away. He rolls his eyes and nods at Shige in recognition. But no more. And Shige’s positive Koyama is on crack and doesn’t know what he’s talking about and should probably just shut up before Shige feels all strange and what is this feeling even called these days.

Shige disappears off to the bathroom just to get away, and when he returns Ryo and Yamapi are sitting on the couch chatting, and there’s milk. Always milk. Shige wonders if Ryo’s realised he’s at the age where he won’t grow anymore and is purely humoring himself, or if he’s really just stupid. He also wonders if Ryo’s noticed Koyama yet, all hiding behind furniture and peering around corners. If only he were in camo gear, Shige muses.

He’s about to reveal himself when Ryo pipes up, “What do you think of Shige?” and Shige shamelessly dives behind Koyama and hovers there. Not that he would be anxious or anything, because that would just be weird. Koyama makes a shocked noise in the back of his throat and Shige presses a finger to his lips, hastily shushes his friend. Koyama smirks and gestures at the conversation, something of a see-I-told-you-so look on his face. Shige scrunches his nose and hits Koyama playfully over the head.

He’s not expecting it.

Yamapi- Since when? Shige backtracks through his memory for any sign of anything but comes up dry. Koyama sits beside him, gaping. “Yamapi’s blushing!” he whispers much too loudly and Shige shoves him roughly. Roughly enough for Koyama to fall and blow their cover.

Yamapi jumps up, looks nervously at the two and back to Ryo again, eyes pleading.

“Well there you have it. Yamapi likes you, Shige-chan~” Ryo teases and Shige blushes a furious red, though he’s not sure what part for.

Yamapi yelps something of an, “Embarrassing!” and buries his head in the couch. Ryo whacks him on the butt, tells him he looks like a duck, and idols should not look like ducks, Pi.

So it continues to be awkward. Yamapi hangs around like it’s the end of the world, does various things that Koyama likes to call, “attempts at impressing Shige” and Shige never fails to splutter at what their leader comes up with. And no, Shige isn’t into kinks like Gothic Lolita because no, no, no, that’s just plain creepy and disturbing and a whole bunch of other words that Shige can’t even think of. (Shige’s normally good with words; he wonders why they’re abandoning him now.)

It’s the glasses that get to him. Oh so simple, yet amazingly hot. Shige only lets himself admit it because well, it’s Yamapi, and Yamapi’s got that gift. That one where it doesn’t matter what gender a person is, anyone’d take him in an instant.

Yamapi laughs at this and thanks Shige, frowning, but smiling all the while. Shige doesn’t even know why he told him because he thinks maybe he’s getting the other’s hopes up, but it felt right. This feels right.

He sips his coffee, smiles contently as the warm liquid runs down his throat. He can feel Yamapi’s eyes on him but he keeps his head down, avoids the other’s gaze. Yamapi stands, announces he’s getting another drink, and at some point Ryo comes back from the bathroom and Shige remembers, Oh right, Ryo’s here.

“You two are so gay,” Ryo snorts, pulls the chair around not-so-subtly and sits right next to Shige. Shige nods tiredly, and shifts his chair around away from Ryo, who of course, follows, much to Shige’s despair.

Shige can’t get his head around Ryo, no matter how much he tries. He tries to explain things, like how Ryo is now so close their thighs are pressed together, or how Ryo’s hand is in fact resting on his leg and hey, what are you doing.

Yamapi returns juggling three large glasses of iced water, sets his own down first. It’s not until he leans over to place the other two down that he takes note of their proximity, chokes a little.

“W-What are you doing, Ryo-chan?” he stutters, looks almost hurt, but Shige’s probably not paying enough attention; he’s still too busy staring at Yamapi’s glasses, because fuck, they look better on him every second.

Ryo mentions something above giving tips, and places a hand on Shige’s shoulder, faces him smiling, “Right, Shige?”

Butterflies.

Shige doesn’t like them. They make him feel all funny and awkward and he shouldn’t be feeling like this because it’s Ryo; Ryo who is worthy of everything but that feeling that Shige’s still forgotten the name of. And he thinks just maybe Yamapi’s noticed the butterflies, thinks perhaps he has a transparent stomach.

Yamapi bites his lip and takes a seat, stares at Shige a little too long. Shige turns back to look at the leader, smiles wider than he’s ever smiled and thanks him for the drink, and Yamapi takes the opportunity to steal Shige’s butterflies; figures he won’t mind. And then Ryo laughs at Yamapi, tells him he looks like a blushing school girl and that maybe, just maybe, that’s something else an idol should not look like.

And so it goes on. And nothing really starts and nothing really finishes but it’s fine like that because they’re happy. It’s like some kind of stupid chain, and it’s so typical, but it just feels so right. Shige hasn’t even figured out what that feeling’s called yet but he doesn’t even think he cares anymore. It’ll probably come to him one day. He’ll get his words back soon, surely.
