"Tezuka," Atobe said, nudging the other none-too-gently.
Tezuka stirred, and then winced. On his other side, Oshitari continued to slumber, stretched out lazily, one arm draped over Tezuka's belly. Tezuka opened his eyes, instinctively looking for his bedside clock before remembering where he was. "What is it, Atobe?" he asked.
"Nothing," Atobe drawled lazily, and then he lifted Oshitari's arm up and off Tezuka. "Come with me."
Not understanding, Tezuka merely glared, as much as one could glare with sleep-bleary eyes. "Atobe," he began. "It--"
"--is five in the morning, and ore-sama is missing precious beauty sleep. Now come, and leave Yuushi where he is. He won't appreciate being woken up for this, but I'm sure you will."
Tezuka wasn't sure he would appreciate it either, but it was only an hour earlier than he normally woke. He stiffly sat, a little sore from the night before. Atobe was indeed missing out on some sleep, so perhaps it was important after all.
This early the temperature was still a little on the low side, but Atobe had dressing gowns for all seasons. The roof of the Atobe mansion was quiet and commanded an excellent view of Tokyo. Off in the distance, there was the faintest wisp of light over the horizon.
They sat on deck chairs, silently watching. There was no need to speak. Tezuka watched the sun rise, and squeezed Atobe's hand.
