"Congratulations on the team's victory today, aniue," Rukia said cheerfully. "You were amazing!"
Without any reaction, Byakuya ate another piece of fish from his bento. Chastened, Rukia lowered her head. She needed to remember that her foster brother had not truly accepted her. He'd never been cruel to her, though, and tolerated her whenever she tried to join him and his tennis friends. If tolerate meant ignore. Yet he let her sit with him on the rooftop during lunch.
Perhaps someday you will be proud of my tennis too, aniue.
