Ohtori Kyouya was in a murderous mood.
This would have been more alarming to the other members of the Ouran High School Host Club if he had been in high school and there had been a host club. As it was, Kyouya was currently seven, not seventeen, his parents did not send him to the same play circle as that of the Hitachiin twins, and he had just been forcibly awakened for his tutoring sessions before the required school day began.
Cosmic deja vu, was it? Kyouya dimly remembered drinking something the twins had offered him. That had been an act of supreme carelessness--he must have been distracted by their almost-slipping-off costumes and the way they had been rubbing against each other and against himself ...
And now he was here, in a too-small body (though the thought of the twins was giving him some reason to re-assess the maturity rates of young children; perhaps he could do some research on this later), lying in a too-big bed that was far too comfortable to get up and out of. It was also ten years before Tamaki would demand to form a host club and drag the twins into it, and therefore ten years before Kyouya would be on any sort of reasonable speaking terms with them.
Ten years too long. Kyouya would have to figure out a way to reverse the effects of whatever they'd given him, if those effects did not wear off by themselves. He wondered whether he was occupying the mind of his younger self, and where that mind would have went. Then he paused, realizing that his younger self wasn't protesting in a corner of its mind like he would most certainly have, had this occured before.
Had it occured before? Kyouya was quite sure he did not remember any incidents where he'd been placed in a sixteen-year-old version of himself. Perhaps in a dream, but he did not remember most of his dreams. Was this in effect an alteration of history, then? Setting aside the revolutionary scientific breakthrough (time travel in the name of pranks) the twins might have actually made, would there be indelible side effects that would permanently change Kyouya's personality once he returned to his body? His rightful body, Kyouya amended as he stretched and realized he could not even reach for the glasses set on his side table without getting up.
He didn't want to get up, it was far too early. Damn the twins, Kyouya thought, ready to commit murder again. He burrowed back into the pillows and closed his eyes.
His door opened, and the butler and two maids appeared, beginning their valiant efforts to help the little master wake up. Kyouya made the level of resistance he could remember making at this age, and saved the rest of his rage and frustration for later. There was no point taking his anger out on the help--Ohtori help was the cream of the crop and Mother would be very displeased to have to hire new staff.
In the meantime ... the Hitachiin twins shared a play group with Haninozuka and Morinozuka. That might yet prove useful.
