I didn't realize you'd updated this story so finding a new chapter was a nice surprise. I liked this conversation. Adam still seems to be a little out of his element whenever Kurt says or does things that he hadn't expected but he's getting better, and Kurt is worlds more confident now than he was during his first visit with Dr. Hanover.

I'm glad he felt comfortable enough to request some time with Artie. It will do them both good to have a peer and old friend, especially in this strange new world outside the pet store, full of baffling humans with their new ideas on free will and such. :)

I'm hoping I can get one more chapter posted before I go back to see my family for the holidays. If not, I'll try to post it soon after i get back. I think you've been waiting a while for it!

There are still things Adam and Kurt aren't really talking about, but they're doing better. Kurt is at least learning who it's safe to be himself around, as opposed to putting on the "typical hybrid pet" mask.

Artie and Kurt should both enjoy it, and maybe learn different things from talking to each other. As helpful as Gabriel wants to be, there are still things he can never understand from the hybrid perspective, that Kurt might be able to explain.

Oooh! Another chapter! Yay!
Can't wait to see Kurt/Artie interaction -- and maybe Adam will learn more about hybrids in general and Kurt in particular by getting to know Artie, also.
But it was Adam's "bequest" to April, and Kurt's reaction to that, that really hit me hard and made me tear up...since of course "real" people aren't owned and don't get bequeathed to someone else.

Kurt is getting pretty excited about seeing Artie again, too! Learning more about Artie's life as a hybrid is going to open Kurt's and Adam's eyes a bit more, and the readers' as well.

The question of who will take care of Kurt if anything happens to Adam has been unresolved for too long, so I'm glad that's settled! Now they have one less thing to worry about, and it was an important one.

I'm a bit surprised that Adam was upset that sex wasn't foremost on Kurt's mind when Dr Hanover asked them to talk about their life. Adam has always striked me as being a laidback kind of guy, hardly getting angry and all that, and to see him losing his cool like that, even slightly, was a bit of a surprise for me! I think he's under a lot more stress than he let on, not about Kurt per se, but maybe about his book and the possibility of it being turned into a play?

You're on the right track. It's not as much an ego thing as that they're not yet on the same page, so to speak. :) They're learning more about each other all the time, but they still have a ways to go. Adam certainly has a lot more stress, and responsibilities and obligations, in his life than before. But they're also his ideas, and he's making the choice to take them on.
