Topics for discussion & a fic list

Does anyone have clothing or color meta for Kurt and Adam? Discussions about the similarities between Elliot's wardrobe and Adam's?
What other kadam topics would people like to discuss? Fantasy season five?

Also for anyone interested, an updated list of my kadam fics on tumblr is under the cut.

I'd like to discuss other, more in-character ways Season 5 could have gone. I'd have preferred it if all the characters started growing up and realizing that sometimes, just because you want something, doesn't mean it's good for you ( ... )

Thank you. This is exactly the kind of discussion that I've been missing.

I don't understand why Glee's showrunners think that contrived, out of character conflict is more interesting to the audience than a group of talented and ambitious "losers" carving out a life and a career. There's plenty of potential for humor and drama (and musical interludes) without resorting to love triangles and petty jealousy.

As for a fantasy season 5 with Adam - I would have liked to have seen a parallel between Kurt at NYADA, training for his dream and Adam, newly graduated and trying to translate that training into a career. I also would have liked to see them navigating a relationship now that Kurt's trust and first-love fantasies have been broken, especially after losing Finn - a different kind of broken trust for Kurt. It also would have been interesting to parallel Vogue.com and NYADA, with Kurt questioning whether his Broadway dream is still the right dream for him.

Ooh, yes, I love that idea! Kurt (and Rachel) would have had an opportunity to see, up-close, what it's like for a NYADA graduate to continue their dreams from there. It may have led to a part in a musical, or it may not. It would have been good for the audience, too, I think, to see that ( ... )

This is exactly the kind of show I would enjoy watching. I don't want to see a privileged few get rewards they don't deserve while everyone else gets scraps ( ... )

If we could do a rewind and start Season 5 over again, how would you like it to have gone? Presumably with Adam still a part of Kurt's life, but I'm curious as to the specific changes Kadamers would have liked to see.

If you could choose, what do you think would be the perfect duet for Kurt and Adam?

What about the perfect song for Kurt to sing with The Apples?

Bonus question: If Adam were still in the picture, would Kurt have formed his cover band at all? He'd still have the Apples even after Adam graduated. Would you rather see Kurt as part of the Apples, or see Kurt and Adam form a band together? With or without Elliot as part of it? Who else would you want to be in it?

If Kurt were still with Adam, I would love to hear them duet to Jason Mraz's "I Won't Give Up".

With the Apples, I could see Kurt doing that song Holly Holiday got in the last episode, Pharrell Williams' "Happy". The Apples had such a fun vibe that seems like they're kind of song. :)

I would have hated to miss out on the songs Chris Colfer has performed with Adam Lambert, but I could make the sacrifice if it had meant a meaningful adult relationship complete with songs for Kadam. I think I would have Kurt "inherit" the Apples upon Adam's graduation and finally be the glee club leader he never had a chance to be under Will Schuester's direction. Adam would still be around to consult and occasionally perform with the group, just not as their student-leader.

Facepalms as I notice that I misspelled "their" as "they're" on the above post.

Your comments on Rachel and Adam also make me wonder how Rachel would have reacted if Kurt and Adam were in the smitten new love stage and she suddenly found herself their 3rd wheel. She's been in the position of being in a relationship while having her best friend single and sharing her life 2nd hand (willing or not) but I don't believe she's ever been the single friend herself ( ... )

I think you're right, that Rachel isn't used to being the third wheel. I think she'd be jealous of Adam, but not enough to join the Apples. And I think you're spot on about her wanting to get his attention by doing something on her own, and being shocked when he's encouraging rather than jealous. I think if he said, sure, go for it, follow your dream, and didn't follow along after her, she'd lose interest in that particular things.

It could have been an interesting group with Adam, but I just don't think Santana and Rachel ever fit in that well. I think Kurt needs to do something without them. I'd like to see him spread his wings. Maybe not give up on his Lima friends entirely, but it'd be a damn shame if they all mostly stayed with people they already know, instead of meeting new people.

One of my main gripes about Glee is that they write these kids as so co-dependent that none of them can move forward or have relationships of more than a few weeks that didn't begin at McKinley. They keep introducing new things and new people - the play, Vogue, the band, Adam, Brody, Dani, Elliot - and then dropping them or shoehorning the other Lima folk in. Nobody is allowed to make a clean start on his or her own and that's a shame.

Adam should have been a great launching pad for Kurt to meet new people and find new interests as an adult, even if they weren't meant to be long term sweeties, but instead Kurt's arc seems to have gotten stuck in neutral with him acting as Rachel's pet and Blaine's possession. Kurt is too good a character to waste that way, and Adam had the potential to be as well. The fact that the guy was only on our screens for 2-3 episodes and about 15 total minutes and yet made such a lasting impression speaks highly for what could have been.

Maybe, from a practical standpoint, it's to find a way to keep the NY storylines at 10 min or less per episode, and still use them all? And I think they had the mistaken idea that the audience mainly just wants to see the original characters and not any new ones for any significant amount of time ( ... )
