update time:
so me and tony decided pretty randomly to go to gatlinburg tennesee. we almost didn't go because it seemed kind of far away and we couldn't find a cheap room, but then at 8 oclock friday night we took off, cause we figured if we didnt, we weren't going to be able to decide on anywhere else to go, lol.
the directions we printed out said the trip was supposed to be 3.5 hours...so we figured we'd be there before midnight. well, we hit some traffic and i was slightly apprehensive about driving thorugh the curvy roads w/ all the big trucks so i wasnt going too fast... anyway... when we get to the tennesse line, i let tony take over driving, since we were about to hit the mountainy roads. well we thought we were following the directions, but we ended up making a wrong turn. we get to this sign that signals that the next 7 miles were to be ZigZaggy Curves... well, we proceed to follow this road going 15 mph since the curves were so sharp and we were going Down hill. well about 1 mile into this 7 mile stretch, i started feeling sick as hell...i opened my window to get some fresh air in, but it wasnt helping. i felt like i was about to blow chunks everywhere so i make tony stop the car. i get out for a minute but am still feeling sick and ij ust want to get to the hotel to lay down...so we proceed on, through the darkness(mind you it's about 1 in the morning at this point...) well we end up coming to a dirt road.....so....tony calls the hotel asking where the hell it is...he describes to the guy where we are, and he says that we ended up in the middle of the smokey mountain nation park... 0_o yeah... so...there we were...lost in the mountain in the middle of the night. so we had to turn around and go back up the 7 mile curvy road...i ended up laying down in the backseat because i felt soooooooooooo nautious i thought i was gonna spew at any second. i fell asleep for a few minutes and when i woke back up we were right near the hotel, so we get checked in, i get into bed, and go to sleep feeling really sick. i prayed though that i'd be better by morning so our trip woudlnt get ruined, and God answered that prayer cause the next morning i felt 100% better.
anyway, so we were planning on going to Dollywood, but decided to save that for another trip since that'd probably take up an entire day and we only had one full day to be there. so instead saturday morning we strolled up and down the main street area checking out the different shops and stuff. our hotel was like 5 mintues from that area so we walked everywhere. which was fun cause i got some exercise and it saved a hell of alot of gas.
anyway, we tried to find this one miniature golf course called HillBilly golf, cause you'd get to go up to the top of the mountain and golf down it, so we walked like a mile uphill and didnt find the place so we walked back into the main area and got icecream, cause our legs were sore as hell after that walk... after that we ended up going to the Ripley's Aquarium...it was really cool i thought. they had some really cool exhibits including this tunnel thing that u get to go through to see all the sharks and stuff... there were too many little kids running around but what can u expect for a saturday. anywho, after that we ended up going back to the hotel for a quick nap, then we went to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner, so that was fun. well after that, we again went back to the hotel for a little bit to figure out what we'd do next. i really wanted to play putt-putt, so we found a different minigolf course since we never found the hillbilly one. we found a Black Light golf one instead. which i thought was kickass, and then after that we went back into the mainstreet area and listened to these people playing banjos and stuff for a while, and then just strolled around the street. there was this one tall kinda freaky looking kid wearing a red trench coat that just kept going up and down the street so we watched him for a while til we got tired and went back to the hotel to go to sleep.
the next morning(sunday) we tried to figure out one last thing to do before we had to head back to rockhill... we were planning on getting one of those old timey western photos taken of us but then we both chickened out so that didnt happen. lol, next time we go again we're gonna do it though. we ended up just walking around some more and did a little more shopping. i ended up buying a candle that looks like a poodle, a little wooden bear, and some chocolates for my mom and dad... oh and then we went back to the hardrock and ate lunch and i got a shirt... after that we had to head back to rockhill. now that we knew where we were going, it Did only take 3.5 hours. lol. so, the ride back was pretty uneventful and i was kinda bummed cause i didnt want to come back. but, we had fun and the next time we go back were gonna go for a couple more days so we'll have more time to do stuff, like go water rafting, horseback riding, and head to dollywood.(oh and go to this place called Parrot World, cause i wanted to go but we didnt have time, muahahah)
anyway i think thats about the brunt of it. tonys gona add his take on the trip in his livejournal so check out his page to get his side of the story.idk if hes updating tonight though. oh ya and i have pictures but i havent gotten them developed yet, but when i do i'll post them up here...also im still working on getting my pix from florida up here too so be patient.
oh and on a completely unrelated note, that farmer's help point commercial makes me sad... the one with the woman who is getting blown around by the wind or something. idk but it bothers me. X.X
