if it's just about offline people reading it, you can make your entries friends-only...or even create filters, so you can decide exactly who gets to read what...I've been keeping my lj friends-only for a while, and I feel a lot more comfortable this way.

yeah, i think i might do that (make it friends-only). it would definitely make me feel more comfortable. but i also worry about friends just getting on to my computer when i'm not looking and reading it. i guess i'll just have to unbookmark it or something :)
