If they're anything like the Microsoft insurance, I'd not worry about it. While my card said Aetna, they were actually self insured and Aetna just managed it. I'd go somewhere that wouldn't take Aetna and they'd pay it all anyway. Crossing my fingers that's what works for you.

Granted, they probably were not too happy with the guy that got the Haunta Virus, but what are you going to do?

I will try not to get the Haunta virus. :]

I've had Anthem BCBS before, and they were fairly decent. The plan is managed out of California, but they have a Utah "segment" so there should be plenty of docs available to you. Whether or not it's YOUR docs is a different matter. The should have instructions to go to a web site where you can search for your docs, but it's also good to follow up with your docs to make sure that they do in fact take said insurance. More than once when looking for some new doc on a new plan, the site says they're a member with that insurance, but half way through making an appt. it's revealed that they do not take the insurance and haven't for 6 months...just sayin'

Dave.... you rock! You've had it!? Thank god someone has had this insurance.

The deductible look better. The copays are within $10-$15 of all others I've ever had.

I found Dr. Cooley (orthopedic surgeon) on the BCBS list.

My oncologist not being on the list scares the crap out of me, $10k+ is a typical cost of my checkups and lab work. BUT we had BCBS (open suitcase) the year of treatment and that was awesome.

Look for the part on your insurance information for "out of network" costs. I don't remember what ours were (or even are, for our current plan) but some cover as much as 60% of out of network docs...

It's 70% which is pretty damn good n' all... but that 30% of 10k is EEEP!
