Short and sweet tonight:
HOLY CRAP, people. In five years, Dean's going to be EVEN HOTTER. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?
Present!Castiel is still ADORABLE and WRONG. And I'm still clinging to the Jimmy theory to explain it all. Future!Castiel CONFIRMS THIS. Kind of. Indirectly.
Speaking of Angels: Zachariah is a dick! But a clever one.
And speaking of secondary characters: CHUCK! Chuck Chuck Chuck. CHUCK!
And: SHOW KILLED BOBBY. Possibly paralyzing him and killing him in the not!future's got to be enough, right? HE WILL SURVIVE. (BTW: JOURNAL! YAY!)
WHY HAS THERE NEVER BEEN A CHASE SCENE LIKE THAT BEFORE? AND WHY IS THERE NOT ONE IN EVERY EPISODE?
How lovely was the future!croatoan paired with future!Sam-(not)killing? SHOW! YOU DO NOT HAVE AMNESIA!
The panties. Really? REALLY? CAN WE NOT BE CANONIZING THE KINK, PLEASE? Seriously, how much did I want the secret to be that Dean was once with fraternal twins: male and female. CANON INCEST AND BISEXUALITY ARE MORE SUITED TO MY PREFERENCES. (You're all invited to write me that fic. Simultaneously. I'll take as many as I can get.)
Remember in S1 when John was all, BUT YOU'RE MY WEAKNESS! but then it turned out they were stronger as a family? WAY TO LEARN THAT LESSON THE FIRST TIME, DEAN.
The only big problem I have with this episode is that I called it. Dean woke up next to the broken clock and I called the rest of the episode (literally paused and got up to make my predictions to my husband, who is ENTIRELY SPOILED, WTF?) and I HATE THAT. I don't want my brain to think things that are later confirmed. OH, EXCEPT: At the very end, I kept expecting Sam to be all BY THE WAY I JUST CAME FROM DETROIT and then shove the knife into Dean's stomach.
Also. I do need to watch it again, but I was maybe a little disappointed by Jared's performance as Lucifer the ice cream man Lucifer.
Is it sad that the reunion's not about them coming around? That they It's A Wonderful Lifed it? I mean, I'LL TAKE IT. But. You know, maybe it could have been more had it come on its own? But Dean did acknowledge that they mean something to each other. And he apologized. And Sam apologized, and can Sam maybe stop apologizing now?
Jensen still cries so beautifully. Which is lucky because DEAN CRIES SO WILLINGLY. And OFTENLY. (WHATEVER, I LOVE IT.)
DEAN SAYS NO. He learned that in Hell. One of these days (read: never) I'm going to stop saying that and actually put some thought into it.
So, at the end, when Dean calls Sam and says he's doing something he should have done in the first place, then he pulls out the knife. We're obviously supposed to see the reference to killing Sam. DOES THAT MEAN SOMETHING? (Don't answer that.) Or is it just another part of the season two callback? (Don't answer that either.)
Regarding Sam's hair. I have one minor observation that I think is mostly without merit. And I'm too lazy to actually look into it right now. But. I feel like when his hair is down, that's OUR SAM. SAMANDDEAN Sam. REAL Sam. And when it's all pushed back, it's not. It's solo!Sam, Lucifer!Sam, unforgiven!Sam. I WANT THIS TO BE TRUE because that means next week, we'll get good hair again. I NEED IT DOWN, PEOPLE.
ANYWAY. They circle each other so pretty. Is it LAME to admit that I wanted the hug? I WANTED THE HUG.
ALSO: WHAT THE HELL, LJ? I WANT TO GO TO BED FOREVER AGO.
