I can only believe that his campaign team has gone over the aspects and have figured out ways to deal with this and the election.
Personally, I thought he should have just evolved sooner so it wouldn't be big news in an election year. I can remember getting those recorded messages during the last Presidential election--and the Prop 8 guys (I live in CA) were using Obama's comments about believing in 'marriage is between a man and a woman'...! AND there was talk about the black vote coming out for Obama were also those who were listening to their churches telling them to vote for Prop 8...
So... I'm ALL for Obama (well, I was more of a Hilary person back then... but I think he's done an amazing job and is a great man and president), but... it sure took a while for him. (Not that I don't understand the politics of it all. Or the thoughts of the social conservatives.)
He's in trouble as it is. I certainly hope it doesn't cost him, either!
We get the government we vote for... unfortunately "we" are too often just ridiculous... *sigh*
I don't know how anyone can go Tea Party or Republican, but they do. They seem so fringe/lunatic to me, but maybe I'm just too much of an optimist about humanity?
