7_Secrets #5: Together
Her arms slid from his neck and she pressed her palm to his flushed cheeks instead, smiling brightly. She was giggling now too, breathlessly giggling as she leaned closer.
“You’re very warm” she whispered
He laid a palm to her cheek as well “…You’re as warm as me”
A new smile took control of those pink lips now, forming the most beautiful smile he had ever seen. She leaned deep into his palm, closing her eyes as her warm cheek snuggled against his hand. It felt so soft against his calloused skin, almost surreal how her cheek could feel like velvet beneath his fingertips.
He rubbed his thumb along her cheekbone as she moved closer. Her hands rung into his shirt, wrists pressing against his chest as she leaned closer. The cutest sound came from her then, making him smile softly.
“Sakura” He rested his other hand against the opposite cheek now, bringing her cupped face forward. His eyes rested on that smile. So calm and lovely, so soft and inviting. He brought her closer, she pressed closer.
But that‘s as far as it went
“….It’s not right is it?”
Sakura’s eyes opened “What isn’t?”
His hands dropped “This”
“But it feels right” she replied with a smile “In my chest right now….all I can feel is Syaoran. And it makes me happy”
“….You’re the princess”
“And you’re the one I love” she whispered slowly
She took his hand, pressing it to her chest “In here is all that matters, Syaoran”
“But we’re not in there…we’re out here”
“…We belong together”
“But” he pulled his hand back with sad smile “…we can't be"
Sakura pressed her forehead to his once more, ran her hands along the back of his head and through his hair. Her smile showed the same misery of reality as his, but Syaoran doubted his could ever look as great as any smile from her. Even in the sadness Sakura’s warm smile brought him light and hope. For a slight second he nearly believed they were on their own, and that nothing else could ever or should ever matter except the two of them.
"We can't be--" That same smile dipped forward and touched the corner of his mouth in a gentle kiss “We will be…”
"...We are" He smiled in a bittersweet way, kissing the opposite corner of her lips in return "...That's why it's so wrong"
