Inter-county chess

So last night at around ten I go into my parents room where my mother is lying in bed ready to go to sleep and I start telling her about this brilliant idea I had. I thought that somewhere out in the mid west where all the counties are in rectangles or squares someone could play this giant game of chess where each county was a chess square and say
