Unless the sound you'll be running is very complicated, don't worry too much about running the sound board. I'm much more of an actor/director/SM than a techie and most tech stuff scares me, but I've been forced to learn how to do basic sound and lighting setup and operation and picking up how to run most sound boards isn't that difficult.

Yeah, yesterday my Audio class actually went down to the theatre and Nick explained the whole board and all the periferals to us, step by step, and now I'm feeling a whole lot better about it. He also told us that we can go in and play with the board anytime that we don't have classes and there's nobody else in there, so I'll hopefully get to do that soon.

Yeah, I'm really enjoying it so far. The set maquette gets even cooler. Next semester we're supposed to take the basic pieces and design a set for Romeo and Juliet. We can pick any time period and place to set it, and as long as we can defend our choices to the teacher, we can pretty much do whatever we want.
