I'd love to be added to your friends list because my wife and I are interested in considering emigration to Austrailia (this country I grew up in has become abhorrent since the Regan era), and because I'm also a boi/girl seriously considering HRT therapy to become more fully transgendered. I'd love to learn more of your experiences with transitioning and also about how the culture in Austrailia treats transgendered folks.
Things have been pretty smooth transition wise for me. I am still working for the same company, three months after transitioning. I think it was good in a way, since everyone knew and respected me before. People actually comment on how much I actually smile now, and that I'm more myself and more open. With my co-workers I have found honesty the best policy... I have stated they can ask me anything and nothing is taboo... Strangely enough this approach seems to have put them at ease.
I'm lucky I guess because it has been so smooth. The culture here is a little more relaxed, although having said that my current hurdle is dating, since my wife and I separated. It can still be difficult to find a girl that accepts me for me. But its early days.
