My beloved cat died Friskie died a couple of years ago, and I've been feeling the need to have some kitties in the house again. Since my family will be going out of town for both holidays, I want to wait and go to the shelter after New Year's day to find two new family members - my grad-school daughter will be visiting from CA and we can go

I think it's a wonderful idea to bring some new pets into the family and taking your daughter with you. I have a snuggly, sleeping Minx on my lap so I have to type this with one hand.
