LOL for Liz aprilp_katje February 21 2008, 19:50:10 UTC
qnjones, these lines made me laugh:

"The lady with the pudding butt is our servant"

Jean Valjean wet the bed, something about how he was afraid to use our bourgeois potty, it wasn't revolutionary enough, and he chose to soil our bourgeois bump bed mattress instead

I also love that Liz appears to be using "bump bed" unironically. ;)

Thanks! I figured Mike meant that he and Liz used to call them "bump beds," and since Liz hasn't matured any...

Funny thing, the only reference to "bump beds" I actually remember from an old strip came from April after she'd slept over at Becky's house. :)

Howe, I think you should try to keep the "there comes a time in a man's life" bit in every post. It really adds to the pomposity.

I know it has to be tough to write those long screeds for the most boring stuff imaginable, so I say thanks!

You're welcome and you are quite right that Lynn has not been giving us much material to work with for awhile now.

"there comes a time in a man's life" as a catchphrase. I like the idea. Thanks for the suggestion.

Glad you liked it. I was amused by the idea of Eva acting like Samuel L. Jackson.

I don't know who wrote the optimus prime post, but I loved it and the way it poked fun at the Mike-looking Liz.

I'd assumed that was you, howtheduck, and I agree about the snark quality. :)

That was me. I generally do a lot of the one shot "celebrity" posts, I think I'm keeping this one.

The idea that a massively intelligent alien robot keeps up with the blog of a teenager in Canada tickles me. I'm also a huge TF fan.

aprilp_katje,

You figured out the secret message. I'm impressed. This is a take-off on the secret message from A Christmas Story, if you are familiar with that movie.

I've never really watched A Christmas Story, so I'm not familiar with the secret message. I hope I didn't spoil things by solving too early!

No spoiling. It was there for fun for you to solve and if you didn't solve it by tomorrow, then Jeremy would do it to close this storyline out for the week.

{spoiler}In A Christmas Story {spoiler} the boy listens to radio programs and orders off for a secret decoder ring so he can understand the message being sent over the radio at the end of the program. When he finally gets the decoder, he discovers the secret message is "Buy More Ovaltine", which is the radio program sponsor.
