I Hate the Word "Partake"

I hate the word "partake." And apparently, I am the only in the world (or maybe just on the internet) who hates that word.  Because the sentence "I hate the word partake" gets absolutely no results on Google.  None.  I feel so alone.

Why do I hate this word?  "Partake."  Well, I pretty much only hear it used in a druggie context.  "Do you partake

It's the linguistic equivalent of putting a skirt on a piano leg so, yeah, it should have been on Carlin's list of Overused Words And Phrases For Which The Users Should Be Slain. I can imagine Lynn and the Pattersons using the word.

Weed would be the most likely candidate for using it. Or maybe Candace or Rudy. At least if Lynn were aware of the druggie context. But I can imagine Lynn (and therefore Elly) being unaware and just using it to be generically fancy. "Ready to partake of this Christmas dinner?"
