adi told me that, when she was four, she thought one's uvula was called a snuffleupagus. But she didn't know the word uvula, and called it "the dangly thing". (hee)
Cut to a few minutes, hours, whatever, later... we're discussing tying cherry stems with your tongue. I say I can't do that (or, rather, I never finished trying to perfect the skill), but I can touch my nose with my tongue.
For some reason, adi claims that kind of tongue flexibility (but not the cherry stem tying kind) is a sign of the genes for mental retardation.
I say "Andrew can touch his uvula with his tongue."
adi says "I thought only girls have those?". LOL!
To clear up the confusion, I utter the phrase that had us in giggles for minutes... "Andrew can touch his snuffleupagus with his tongue."
adi posted the story in her lj, and Declan was supposed to post the quote too, in the lj that must not be named, but he forgot his lj password. (hee)
