Oh, and the seventh of July marked TEN YEARS I have had this LJ account. That's almost a third of my life. Back when I got on you had to have a code from someone ( Read more... )

Totally know the feeling about being embarrassed by your old entries. There's a lot of shit in there from college that, well, I've gotten a little better since then. I hope.

I started my LJ in part to write about an ex boyfriend. Even though I knew he was reading it. Yup.

But yeah, for a while there all my friends were on LJ. My f-list could be a hundred posts deep every day, and they were personal posts, not communities, for the most part. Most of my online social life was via LJ. And hooo boy, I talked my way through a lot of life stuff on this thing.

Nice :) yeah, most of my friends in college were all over lj. I actually met someone while in college over lj who I kept in touch with, and is now in Portland, and we have a lot of friends in common. :)

I friended one girl in college when I was dating her, but then forgot I friended her when I wrote quite the diatribe about her after she broke up with me. Oops.

Mirroring on Dreamwidth is SUPER easy. Even for someone who is crap at figuring out stuff. Trust me.

Does it mirror the comments too?

What I SHOULD do is buy a small external hard drive and use ljbook. It downloads comment threads as well, and there are some old posts where the comments are the best part by far, as I'd get into long intense conversations with friends.

But yeah, I have a feeling that the file size would be truly ginormous.

It'll archive your old comments, but won't update with new ones from anything you crosspost.

I like early embarrassing posts. The fact that past me is an embarrassment to me is one of the few signs that I've matured.

...which reminds me, I am on Season 9, which means I get to watch "The Three Doctors" soon.
