1. What did you do in 2013 that you'd never done before?
Worked as a mail carrier! First thing that came to mind, anyway.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I have no idea if I even made any. My resolution for next year: Try to be more of a morning person! I shouldn't hate every single morning when I wake up before 6am to get to work. Also, cleaning my goddamn room and getting all my shit out of storage.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yup! SO MANY BABIES.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
My former covenmate Jeff died. I hadn't seen him in a few years, though.
5. What countries did you visit?
Pffft. I either had no money or no time!
6. What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013?
A new Lolita Sherlock coat? A savings plan? Oh, I know! A new laptop and phone, but I should have those within the next month or two. Also a new touring bike...good lord, how long have I been saying that?
7. What date from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
OH GOD. The day I stopped my bicycle as I passed a mail carrier and asked, "Do you like your job?" The day I got hired--when I saw the phone number show up on my phone my knees turned to jelly. The day I started.
The day I broke up with Shawn. The day Donna and Noel moved out. The day I met Seamus and the first time we kissed.
Eventful year, all told.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
SO I HAVE THIS JOB THING NOW
Also, breaking it off with Shawn.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not putting together all the furniture I bought at IKEA months ago? My room is still a fucking mess! (I suppose if that's the wost thing I can come up with...)
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I sprained my right ankle and tore my left knee open my first day working alone. The Headache of Doom I had in November for over a week. Other than that, the usual couple of colds.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
SO MANY CLOTHES. I love clothes. I would like more clothes. My Dansko heels. The Solomon trail-running shoes I wear for work.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
EVERYONE which is to say I have amazing friends. Also Shawn was mostly calm about the breakup, which was a relief.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My dad. Ugh. Which reminds me, I should call my mom tomorrow--I know she's less likely to tell me shit if my dad's around, and he works Sundays.
14. Where did most of your money go?
oh god. Rent, food, booze, clothes, I imagine.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
SHERLOCK SEATTLE AGAIN.
The next season of Sherlock, which stats on January first, oh god.
MY JOB.
SEAMUSSSSSS
16. What song will always remind you of 2012?
God damn, I could not escape that song for several weeks this summer--it was always playing somewhere on the radio dial, I had it on my ipod, people were blasting it from cars and houses...
Also Blurred Lines, but that song can go eat a huge bowl of dicks.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? happier!
ii. thinner or fatter? thinner enough that when I run into people I haven't seen in a while, they're startled
iii. richer or poorer? richer!
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Dancing! Shut Up and Dance ended after years and years, and I couldn't go 'cause I was working the next day.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Staying up past a reasonable bed-time.
Crushing on my friend Nate....though, then again, it was him being semi-interested in me that finally led me to break up with Shawn. He turned me down, but still, that relationship had been over for a while. And then I met Seamus, so.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
I slept in super late (like, almost 2pm late) and then Seamus and I went to my parents' house, where there was food and presents and Rock Band.
21. Did you fall in love in 2013?
YES
22. How many one-night stands?
None.
23. What was your favorite tv program?
Still Sherlock! Awww yissss!
(oh god season three in several days OH GOD)
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
...nope. Strongly dislike, maybe. (Note to the supervisors and station manager at Parkrose: there's a reason everyone makes sympathetic noises when they find out I worked there for over a month.)
25. What was the best book you read?
I just bought a bunch of books 'cause I'm pretty sure I've mostly read fanfiction this year. I'd say Caitlin Moran's books but she was a jackass recently. (I did enjoy reading them though.)
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I am in a musical rut, alas.
27. What did you want and get?
A JOB; a brand name Lolita dress; a bunch of Expedit bookshelves; a geeky, sweet, smart, cute boyfriend with a high libido.
28. What did you want and not get?
A touring bike that fits. (This was my answer last year....leaving it here....)
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
Star Trek, probably.
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
On the day itself I was in bed with The Headache of Doom. My celebration was at Voicebox a couple days later and was awesome. I turned 34.
31. What is one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I have no idea.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2013?
Yoga pants and fandom t-shirts. I FEEL PRETTY.
33. What kept you sane?
My friends, Trivia night at The Tardis Room, tumblr, fanfiction. Also my bicycle, of course.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Still. I've been a bit distracted from my crush, now that I'm getting laid, fairly regularly, with a boy I find to be ridiculously attractive. And Benedict keeps wearing his hair slicked back, which is soooo not my thing. But every now and then I see a photo of him and, oh my god, hnnng.
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
Ummmmm.......
36. Who did you miss?
Katrina. Aka
seams_unusual. I don't see her often enough.

I thought having a job would make my life better, and HAHAHA I WAS RIGHT.
