If I actually go to bed "on time" or anywhere close to it, I can't sleep. (For me to get eight hours, I'd have to be asleep by 9:30.) Even with the fan. Even with my favorite ASMR vid.

I regularly get to bed a bit after eleven. By which time I'm stupidly sleepy. And then I pull up an ASMR vid, usually this one, and fast forward about two minutes ( Read more... )

The biggest, biggest worry I have had about working, and pretty much everything else, is how hard it is for me to get to sleep and stay asleep. If I could ever fix that, everything else would just fall into place.

Also, how long has this letter-carrying job been going on? I am not sure, but it seems like it has been close to two years? It was sometime in 2013, at least that you started? When it started, I didn't know if you were ever planning on making it a regular thing, but it looks like it has, indeed, become a regular thing.

Ugh. Changing one's body clock is nearly impossible, but it can be tweaked a bit. You might look into cortisol regulating supplements if you want to give something else a try. mckitterick has been able to adjust his sleep cycle by one or two hours with Kavinace, too.

I've taken both of these (still take Kavinace every night) and they worked well for me.

Do narcolepsy awareness ads typically play at the beginning of AMSR vids? It just seems backwards, like if you've got narcolepsy, you probably don't have trouble falling asleep. Unless there is some sort of correlation between ASMR and both insomnia and narcolepsy. In which case it would be pretty neat if ASMR videos helped both insomniacs and narcoleptics sleep.
