I went to my parents' house after our last day of training. We went to a shoe store and she bought me Dr. Scholl's shoes specifically for working in. I have my fingers crossed, especially since they weren't super-expensive. I didn't realize until I wore them outside (and got them dirty) that I'd bought the wide version, though. Our trainer is much like many of the people I've met at the USPS: He loves his job, but he loves it in spite of the bloated bureaucracy inherent to a large, government-run organization, and it has made him slightly sarcastic.
