20 Game of Thrones/ASOIAF for 20inspirations

I almost never ever add text to my icons (this represents every text icon I've made since August 2011...) so even when we started planning this round for 20insp I seriously never even expected to try. But the day the challenge was posted, I randomly got really inspired by Game of Thrones and particularly by the book

The cropping and colouring in 3 is astounding! 7 is also gorgeous. Love the monochrome blue and the text! 16 is my favourite of this batch. The negative space is fantastic and the colouring really brought out the emotions in this scene. 34 has great composition and oh my gosh 2... :( theeeeooonnnn

You should probably put that Throbb icon under a spoiler cut though, lol.

and this is random, but I keep reading "I want to fly" on that Bran icon as "I want a waffle" um

Trying not to read some of the text too closely so I'll probably end up getting spoiled and regretting it, but this is such a great post! I love the monochromatic coloring and combination of serif text to add a touch of elegance, like in 1, 3, and 5. The coloring and lighting in 8 is phenomenal and sunny and makes me feel braver just by looking at it (if that makes sense... I'm sleepy right now so it probably doesn't at all).

My favorites are 7 and 17. I'm probably biased because 7 features my love, Robb, but the coloring also goes great with him being king of the north. And the text use in 17 is so subtle and works perfectly as a compositional texture-like element. I also love the natural but slightly muted coloring in there, and the emptiness around Sansa really emphasizes her pain.

34 is also amazing! Great composition and texture use. That scene made me so sad and nostalgic for the pilot when the Starks were all alive, happy and blissfully ignorant.

I love your approach to this round's text theme - the monochromatic colouring you chose for most of your icons works just so well with the text; it makes everything look so focused and emotional and beautiful.

My favourites of the buch are 1, 2, 5 and 34. I love the bold text with the red colouring on the first icon; it's so powerful. The muted colours in 2 are beyond gorgeous and 5 has such a dark and compelling look about it. And the composition in 34 is just all kinds of amazing.

Your monochromatic skills are seriously SICK. The blocking and blending on 19, combined with the makes it such a fantastic icon, I also love 5, 9, 11, 18 and the first alternate. Great job!
