You have such a way with words. It makes me jealous - but the good kind of jealous where I can just and read and get taken away to another place. :)

I blame it on procrastination. While my OCs are suffering terribly, I'm having fun with some of my favorite verses.

Hope to see more from you soon!!! :)

O.O

This is a sort-of birthday fic for me? Moi? Oh, I approve. It's very birthday-y. It's like angsty chocolate cake. Oh Apsara, damn it, you sure know how to write.

I thought in the beginning that I had it all figured out, that his mother was dead and Mariam didn't want to tell him until he had a nice day after all his hardships BUT OF COURSE I WAS TOTALLY WRONG AND THIS IS MUCH, MUCH BETTER!

And the well, and how something down there smells rotten... even then, I thought: ah, Mariam is not so innocent after all, she threw the one-eared cat into the well to punish Kostan for leaving (or not marrying her), BUT OF COURSE I WAS TOTALLY WRONG AND THIS IS MUCH, MUCH BETTER!

And then, AND THEN, Mélusine comes to the village and is as ensnared as Kostan was and she will die too, won't she, snagged up by the spirits.

And seriously, the bit with the wheat and why it grows so long and all the wartime moments (like the lice and the haircuts and Jan who had desired Mélusine too)... Apsara, A++. This is brilliant. Going straight into my

Also, and you don't know this, I find wells super spooky since I watched The Ring. So this is a double whammy for me. And I just read it again, and don't know what impresses me more, the sheer beauty of your writing, or how you weave this disturbing and genius plot.

(And I am comment fail -- Sorry Courtnina!)

Holy mother of god.

Normally I would hate a person for doing this to me, but you wrote so gorgeously that I can't.

It's like Ficathon all over again... It's painful, I don't want to read more, BUT I MUST! I CAN'T LOOK AWAY!

Just... Bravo. Honestly.

Oh, my god. How is it possible to be horribly creeped out and want to flail and squeal at the same time??? I think I'm now afraid of wells and fields. I guess there's something to be said for living in cities. In case you can't tell, THIS IS GORGEOUS AND CREEPY AND FANTASTIC ( ... )

THANK YOU!!! your reviews always make me want to flail and squeal, i really appreciate all the lovely feedback! :D i wrote a lot of this at odd hours (1am-5am-ish) and i can assure you that by the end, i was too petrified to turn off the lights before i went to bed.

oh, and i have to tell you that when i was describing the food i was 1) STARVING and 2) rereading your amazing fic "messages", which probably has the best food descriptions EVAR, so thanks for the inspiration :)

the same definitely goes for your reviews! :D eek, i can see why you would be afraid to turn off the lights after writing this! i wrote a way less scary scene over the summer and lay awake listening to all the sounds and being freaked out...

so happy to hear you liked messages! and also to hear that it was good food inspiration. *blush*

(somehow stuck this in the wrong thread the first time around ^^;)
