happysad.
A band. Lena got me into listening to their songs and I got hooked on the occasionally quirky lyrics. They lean towards a more pessimistic view on life (totally different to mine) but I suppose it agrees with most of their public.
Kula Shaker
Another band. I first heard their music in August while staying at Haruko's, so it's pretty new to me.
Sloan
Canadian band whose song 'Everything you've done worng' makes me feel better. They tend to have really odd lyrics, but their themes are basically unchanging - relationships and problems, fame and it's downsides, drug use, suicide, love, friendship, goals in life. Among phrasing that's still a little cryptic for me the general topics are every day life of people that are your regular Jones' or those that had it a little worse. Again, surprisingly pessimistic for my choice, but realistic as well. I like it how they can put themselves into a certain situation that's not always right but they still make it worth listening. Of course, if you like the type.
Mucha
As in Alfons Mucha. I'm completely smitten with his works. Also, it's pretty interesting to learn about an artist who led a proffesionally and emotionally successful life.
Pansexuality
I'm fascinated by the concept of being romantically involved with another person without relating it to that person's gender. It seems pretty unusual and yet - strangely familiar in ways that never even ocured to me before. Plus, it cleared out a few things in my mind.
Practical magic and unnoticed pretties
LOL, whatever you might think it's not the Bullock/Kidman film. I loved it, but that's not the reason I wrote down 'practical magic' on my interest list. It's kinda like applied art - you put something pretty into something useful. And unnoticed pretties are the things that you find appealing in places and objects, sometimes people, that don't really fit into the general definition of 'beautiful'. It's all pretty subjective, but personalizing is my way of coping, so I guess this is where it came from.
