I Found Prophetic Words of Wisdom In the Bottom of Your Tea

Do not look too deeply into this poem. It is pointless, random, and altogether strange. You are not supposed to understand it; I do not, myself. This poem comes from the same place that my dreams come from, and is merely an outlet of the subconscious.

I found prophetic words of wisdom
in the bottom of your tea.

They told trying tales of towering trolls
toiling through the twisted knolls,
and all the while you and I and me;
we sat and drank our tea.

I found prophetic words of wisdom
in the bottom of your tea.

They spoke of an evil witch who ruled the trolls
come to conquer the clouds and capture the coals;
the ones that were once used to burn away sin,
that man alone might be born again.
All the while, you and I and she,
we sat back and drank the tea.

I found prophetic words of wisdom
in the bottom of your tea.

The leaves of your tea began to burn,
and in the smoke a vision occured,
and the witch tried to give me the coal:
"Swallow it," she said, "swallow it whole."
The trolls chanted, using my speech,
but I could not speak, I could not reach.

I awoke in my bed, a new day begun,
and then I went to tea.
And you were there, and the witch and the trolls,
-there was also me.
and I reached over to look in your cup,
but you reached it first and covered it up.

It broke to tiny pieces in the palm of your hand,
and your hand began to steadily bleed.
But still, in the blood and the skin and the glass of your palm

I find prophetic words of wisdom
in the bottom of your tea.
